Old Anime that still has it charm

Old Anime that still has it charm

1.Berserk

Berserk: The badass medieval anime about Guts the swordsman. His journey starts early on with joining a mercenary group called "The Hawks" and meeting Griffith, another important character. In the series we will see Guts helping Griffith achieving his dream about ruling the world.

One of the reasons for Berserk's high spot on this list would be the incredible, unbeatable atmosphere. The soundtracks, visual surroundings, the dialogues etc. really succeeds in creating a rather dark and grim show, which is good, which is especially cool considering that i hate too grim shows...

The character depth and development is great. You'll get to know the charcters, their stories and their goals. This especially goes for the two main characters, Guts and Griffith.

Guts is a really epic character. No superpowers, no supernatural strength, no guru raised him, and despite all this, we still end up with one of the strongest, best and most fearless swordfighters in any anime so far. But Guts actually deserves these amazing fighting skills. Every episode Guts is training. Training to improve and grow strong. He has an extreme determination and along the journey we will witness him become stronger.

Guts is the ONLY character i have ever seen who has taken every single one of his opponents without any struggle (...fu. Demons don't count).
Few can take this fighter 1v1 and he deserves a spot high up in best/most badass characters of all time.

This is anime is a few steps from perfect though. The animations varies, but is mostly basic old school drawn, with some moments being better than others. Also the ending was quite annoying/bad. The manga continued, but the series stopped. The ending was actually quite random without any continuation that explained further on what was happening. At the end you will be confused, but happy for seeing one of the best animes ever!

2.Rurouni Kenshin

I finished watching this anime only a few days ago (written October 12th) and this is a great anime as expected. The protagonist Himura Kenshin is a legendary manslayer from a war in Kyoto that happened under the revolution ten years back. To repel for his sins he makes an oath never to kill again, but wanders around with a reversed blade sword (which he can't kill with) which he tries to save as many lives as he can with.

The show itself is really good. There are great fighting scenes, humor involved, drama and a pretty good storyline.
One of the downsides though is the fillers. Season 3 (after episode 62) are just fillers that has nothing to do with the mange (or at least that is what i've heard). I watched season 3 myself though and it is divided into 2 stories plus some episodes between these stories about nothing. Kinda like fillers to the fillers.

What many people recommend is watching until you reach season 3 (stop at episode 62), then continue by watching the 4 OVA's, and then read the manga from where season 2 left off (Free to read: http://www.mangareader.net/118/rurouni-kenshin.html, act 151 was the last episode in season 2) and end off with the movie.

Haven't read the manga myself, don't know if I shall yet... Have seen the whole series, the OVA's and the movie.
Great stuff, highly recommended.

its even have a dorama!

3. Full Metal Panic!

Description : Sousuke Sagara, a seventeen year old military specialist working for the secret organization MITHRIL, has been assigned to protect the latest "Whispered" candidate Kaname Chidori. To complete this task Sousuke will have to deal with enemies from his past as well as the occasional panty thief. Unfortunately for Sousuke, the toughest part of his mission isn't only protecting Miss Chidori but also getting used to living an average High School students life, no easy task for someone raised on the battlefield.

overall its a god anime with lots of action, humor, and romance

4. Hunter x Hunter

and for the closing~ Hunter x Hunter, just like Yu Yu Hakusho, is a kind of shounen you don't see now-a-days anymore. It has got its typical shounen elements (fighting, humor, training), but it is so much more mature and well structured than the colourful explosion-fest and meaningless action-oriented popular shounens today. My main complain is that Hunter x Hunter ends so suddenly it's offensive... or it would be, were it not for the OVA's continuing directly from where the series left off.

for bonus here's 0ne of the episodes of Hunterxhunter:Greed island

interested? nostalgic? watch now~!!!
